CNG Aquaponics Standards Are Published

Posted on January 20, 2016

aquaponics.pngWe are pleased to announce that we have published the CNG Aquaponics Certification Standards. This is the main component of our new certification program for aquaponics producers.

This new program will promote best practices in ecological aquaponic food production. We expect to launch it by the end of January, 2016. To be sure you're notified directly when we begin accepting applications, please register for updates on our Aquaponics page.

aquaponics_sm.jpegWe'd like to thank everyone who provided feedback on our draft standards during the comment period this fall. The standards that have been adopted reflect several of the insights shared in these comments.

This has been a true grassroots initiative. The development of this new program has been made possible by the volunteer efforts of the experts on our Advisory Council and the financial contributions of people who saw the need for the program.

Help us Spread the Word!

We're seeking additional funds to expand our ability to promote this new program. Aquaponics offers great potential to bring fresh, local, ecologically produced food to both arid and frigid climates, and to urban communities that rarely see fresh local produce.

Please chip in here to support this program and the aquaponics producers who will participate. All contributors of $15 or more will receive cute cards that enable you to join our promotional efforts.  If you'd like to help promote this program in your community, please sign up to volunteer.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or suggestions. And keep an eye out for our big announcement very soon!
