If you haven’t heard, we are now selling temporary tattoos of the CNG logo--and the first batch is free! It’s kind of a funny concept, but trust us--they’re a huge hit everywhere from farming conferences in Georgia to farmers markets in Ohio.
Our temporary tattoo tradition began years ago at the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture conference, where we used them to drum up awareness and enthusiasm for CNG. When asked, most conference-goers said yes to our rainbow-colored temporary tattoos--which bought us at least 30 seconds of their time. Applying the tattoos to farmers' hands, we became fast friends, swapping farm stories and sharing a little bit about what we do.
Since conference-goers love our tats, we thought market-goers would love them too. That’s why we decided to sell them in the CNG store to farmers this spring.
Here's what CNG Farmers Say about our Tattoos:
“We keep them on hand at our farmers’ market and will also have them for the last farmers market Saturday in October when kids trick-or-treat the vendors.” --Sharon Steinhoff of Silver Maple Farms in Frankfort, OH (above)
“Passing out stickers, tattoos and snacks to the little ones not only provides the kids with something to be excited about, it also helps the parents by giving the kids something to touch and talk about at the markets. They are at eye level with the vender tables and usually parents telling them "don't touch". We are often the first stop these families make and that works out great for us too. It's really about making the whole market experience better for the kids.” --April Norris of Red Wagon Produce in Ocala, FL
