Farmers love the affordability of Certified Naturally Grown, and we want to keep it that way. So we're reaching out to invite supporters to help us build the Grassroots Fund with the 100 House Parties for CNG campaign. Here's the skinny:
Our core operations are 85% funded by certification dues, and we don't receive public subsides. In contrast, the USDA organic program receives $11 million per year to help cover organic certification fees. CNG farmers typically pay somewhere around the recommended $200 per year, but members have the option to pay less, and often do. For CNG to remain affordable and economically sustainable we need additional funding to bridge the gap between what it costs and what some farmers can pay.
Our recent blog post, "How to Host a Fundraiser Party," outlines the steps to host a gathering that brings community members together to have a good time and support a great cause, without requiring a ton of work, or burning a hole in your budget. It can be a simple dinner gathering for your closest friends, or a larger party--a group of any size can make a difference.
So many people want to help build a better food system--give them an opportunity by hosting a gathering for CNG!
We can assist with your custom-designed email invitations and even set up online ticket sales for larger gatherings, for free. Will you host a House Party for CNG?
